It can be a tripped overload switch, a jar that is not locked, or no power at the socket. Unplug it, let it cool, and press the reset button on the base if there is one. Fit the jar until it locks. If it still does not start, or only hums, book a visit and say whether any jar works.

A full jar, a long run, or a thick mix can trip the overload. That is common and may reset after it cools. If it cuts out on a small load, or the base is too hot to touch after a short run, the motor may be straining. Note what you were grinding and how long it ran before it stopped.

A leak at the blade base is often a worn rubber ring or a loose blade assembly, not a dead motor. Check that the ring is seated and the jar is not cracked. If it still leaks, book a repair and say which jar - chutney, wet, or liquidiser. A cracked jar is a parts change, not a motor job.

The jar coupler and the motor coupler may not be meeting, or one of them may be worn. A jar that is only half locked will also vibrate. Seat the jar fully and try another jar. If the motor spins and the blades stay still, or the noise is a grind, book a visit. Do not run it empty.

The visit covers inspection and the agreed labour. A motor, jar, blade set, coupler, switch, or cord is often extra, and a motor costs more than a gasket. Compare the offers on Blizus and confirm whether the amount includes parts before you accept.

Switch it off and unplug it. A one-time smell after a very heavy grind can be overload. A smell that remains, smoke, or a spark is not safe to test again. Leave it unplugged and book a repair. Do not open the base to look at the motor.

Repair can be enough when the body is sound and the fault is a coupler, switch, or jar. Replacement is more practical when the motor has burnt more than once, the unit is old, or the quoted motor work is close to a new mixer. Share the wattage, how many jars, and the approximate age.

Replacing a jar gasket, with the mixer unplugged, is reasonable if you have the correct ring and do not force the blade nut. Do not open the motor housing or bypass the overload switch. If the cord is cut or you feel a shock from the body, stop and book help.

Mention the brand, wattage if you know it, and the symptom: will not start, stops while grinding, jar leak, noise, or burning smell. Say which jar fails and whether the reset button was already pressed. Note if it is still under brand warranty. Add a photo of the base and the jar coupler.

Compare price, ratings, and experience where those are displayed. Before you accept, confirm the offer is a doorstep check and whether the motor or jar is included. A hand blender or a juicer is a different machine, so say “mixer grinder” and do not assume every jar is in the price.
